La RS6 Avant Performance associe un V8 biturbo de 4,0 litres à une technologie mild hybrid 48V pour 630 ps et 850 Nm, grâce à des turbocompresseurs plus gros et une pression de suralimentation portée à 2,6 bar par rapport à la RS6 standard. La boîte automatique à huit rapports transmet cela via le quattro aux quatre roues, avec un différentiel central mécanique qui répartit la transmission à 40 pour cent à l'avant et 60 pour cent à l'arrière de série, pouvant envoyer jusqu'à 85 pour cent à l'essieu arrière si nécessaire.
